Dr. Jennifer Voges, Director of Bands, is in her twenty sixth year of teaching and her thirteenth year in Yoakum ISD. Under her direction, the Yoakum Bands have been consistent Sweepstakes winners, ATSSB OPS State Finalists, and attended the State Marching Contest. She is thrilled to continue her work with the wonderful students of Yoakum! Prior to coming to Yoakum, Voges was a band director in the Fort Bend and Alvin Independent School Districts. She has also held teaching positions at Texas Tech University, Eastern New Mexico University, and Northern Arizona University. Voges holds the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from Texas Tech University, the Master of Music Degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, and the Bachelor of Music (Education) degree from Texas Tech University.
Voges was born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. She attended New Braunfels High School where she received numerous awards for her horn playing including being named to the Texas All-State Band. She now lives in Shiner, TX with her husband Travis, sons Jason and Joseph, and her crazy animals Lady Godiva, Sky, Jager, and Lucy the cat. Email: [email protected]

Ms. Lacy Orsak, Assistant Director of Bands/YJH Band Director, is excited to be a part of the Yoakum Band Program for the third year! She spent the majority of her 20 years in education as the Assistant Director of Bands at Quail Valley MS in Fort Bend ISD where she directed the award-winning Symphonic Band. Ms. Orsak has also taught in Columbus ISD, Livingston ISD, Fredericksburg ISD, Wharton ISD, and Rice CISD.
In 2000 Ms. Orsak earned her Bachelor of Music from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos where she studied flute with Dr. Ada Jones and Beth Wiehe. While at SWT she was a member of the Flute Ensemble, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. She also earned her Performer’s Certificate from Trinity College, London. Before SWT Ms. Orsak attended Wharton County Junior College where she served as Drum Major for two years, was a member of the Concert Band and Jazz Band, and was chosen as Principal Flute of the Texas Two Year College All-State Band in both 1995 and 1996.
Ms. Orsak is an avid baseball fan, and is on a mission to visit all 30 Major League Baseball Parks. She has been to 10 parks so far with Wrigley Field in Chicago being her favorite. She is looking forward to visiting Fenway Park in Boston and Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore as well as all of the California ball parks.

Mr. Aaron Villarreal, Assistant Band Director/Director of Percussion, is super thrilled to be continuing in his 2nd year with the Yoakum Band Program! His previous was the Assistant Band Director/Elementary Music Teacher at Louise ISD, in which he was the director of the Louise Junior High 7th/8th grade concert band and the Pre-K - 4th grade general music teacher. Prior to teaching in Louise, Mr. Villarreal served as the drumline and front ensemble technician for Odem-Edroy ISD in 2017-2020.
In May 2021 Mr. Villarreal received his Bachelor of Music from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He studied percussion under the direction of Mr. Randy Fluman and was a member of numerous percussion ensembles throughout his time at TAMUK. Mr. Villarreal was also a member of the TAMUK University Band, Concert Band, Wind Symphony, and front ensemble with the Javelina Marching Band. In high school, Mr. Villarreal had the honor of earning the first chair percussion spot in the ATSSB All-State Band his senior year in February 2014!
Mr. Villarreal loves to spend time with family and friends, and enjoys spontaneous trips and adventures. Some different places he’s traveled to include Los Angeles, New York City, New Mexico, Tulsa Oklahoma , and Orlando Florida! But, his favorite place on Earth is San Antonio TX! Visiting places like Las Vegas and London are on his bucket list.
